But one bit of good news emerged Thursday: pitcher Alex Wood, who was originally told not to throw for four weeks because of inflammation in his left elbow, will begin a throwing program next week, a few days earlier than plaed. “We’re on pace to hit all my marks,” he said. Wood said he had some fluid drained from the elbow and received a cortisone shot.
