All games at 7 p.m. unless noted.

Los Alamitos vs. Edison at Veterans Memorial Stadium, 7:30 p.m.: The Griffins (4-2, 1-0) are ranked No. 7 in CIF Southern Section Division 3 after impressive performances against upper-division opponents such as Long Beach Poly and La Habra. The Chargers (5-1, 1-0), No. 2 in CIF-SS Division 3, also has a high-powered offense and its only loss is to top-ranked Mater Dei.

“We’re both where we’re supposed to be,” Los Alamitos coach Ray Fenton said. “We scheduled our preseason with this game in mind. We’ve been in the big games, so we know what to expect.”

The game of the week between Sunset League rivals will be televised on Fox Sports Prime Ticket.

A new fast-paced offense has helped Los Alamitos score 216 points.

Edison quarterback Griffin O’Connor is averaging nearly 200 yards passing per game with 12 touchdowns and three interceptions. Senior receivers E.J. Ginnis and Shaun Colamonico have combined for 981 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns.

St. John Bosco vs. Santa Margarita at Cerritos College: Bosco (5-1, 1-0) still hasn’t lost a Trinity League game in four years and looks to increase its 22-game league winning streak. The Eagles (4-2, 0-1) of Santa Margarita are fresh off a blowout loss to Mater Dei, the other Trinity League favorite and top team in CIF-SS Division 1. Bosco is No. 3 in Division 1 behind Corona Centennial.

St. Anthony vs. Bishop Montgomery at Clark Field: This is a Santa Fe League opener for the Saints (4-2) who jumped into the rankings this week at No. 10 in Division 10. The Knights (4-2, 1-0) defense is stout, giving up only 69 points. Senior defensive end Bryce Matthews has a team-high 15.5 tackles for loss.

Valley Christian vs. Village Christian Occidental College: In the battle of the Crusaders, Valley Christian (4-2) opens Olympic League play on the road as the No. 2 team in Division 9. Village Christian (5-1, 1-0) is No. 8 in Division 12, thanks to a defense that hasn’t given up more than 20 points to an opponent. The Valley Christian offense has scored at least 42 points in all of its four wins.

Moore League

Poly at Jordan: The Jackrabbits (4-2, 3-0) have outscored their league opponents 179-7 this season, including a 70-0 win over Compton last week. Poly is No. 8 in Division 1. The injury-plagued Panthers (3-4, 2-1) are coming off a 34-18 win against Cabrillo in which they rushed for 438 yards. Jordan has racked up 2,027 yards rushing this season with running backs William “Baby” Satulua and Isiah Clark.

Lakewood at Compton: Both of these teams are coming off losses last week to the top teams in league. The Lakewood (2-4, 1-1) is led by its defensive line of Naki Mitai and Tui Aiono. The pair will have their hands full again this week with Compton running back junior Christian Swint. The Tarbabes are 3-4, 1-2.

Cabrillo at Millikan: The Rams (0-6, 0-2) will have the opportunity for their first win on homecoming night against the Jaguars (2-4, 0-2). Cabrillo quarterback Denaylan Fuimaono leads in touchdowns and yardage this season. Jayden Davis is the deep threat and a play maker to watch for the Rams.

Suburban League

La Mirada at Bellflower: The Matadores (5-2, 3-0) are the No. 1 team in Division 3 and have been cruising through league, outscoring opponents 190-15 through three games. The Buccaneers (1-5, 1-1) picked up their first win of the season last week against Glenn.

Mayfair at Artesia: It’s a little early to be considering the playoff picture, but the Pioneers (5-2, 2-1) can pull even with the Monsoons (3-3, 2-0) for second place in league with a win. Artesia is averaging 269 yards rushing per game. Mayfair senior Abrie Sumlin has 224 yards rushing and five touchdowns in the last two game.

Cerritos at Norwalk: The Dons (2-3, 0-2) and Lancers (4-3, 1-2) have both tumbled down the league standings after losses to La Mirada and Mayfair in back-to-back games over the last two weeks.

San Gabriel Valley League

Gahr at Warren: The Gladiators (6-0, 1-0) found a way to stay undefeated last week despite trailing Lynwood in the fourth quarter. Gahr, No. 8 in Division 10, got a fifth 100-yard rushing night from running back Latrell Stearns. Warren (0-5-1, 0-1) has only scored 12 touchdowns this season.

Downey at Lynwood: Besides Gahr, the Vikings (5-1, 1-0) are one of the hottest teams in the SGVL. Downey, No. 5 in Division 4, is riding a four-game winning streak in which it has 151 points. The Knights (3-3, 0-1) are trying to bounce back from the disappointing loss to Gahr and have dropped three of its last four games.

Paramount at Dominguez: The Pirates (4-2, 1-0) are a contender for the league title and with the Dons (1-5, 0-1) hosting tonight’s game, it could have an impact on playoff seedings.

Others

Firebaugh at Vasquez: Firebaugh (0-6) got on the scoreboard for the first time last week at Mendez and even led heading into the fourth quarter, but failed to pull out its first win of the year. The Mustangs (3-3) are 3-1 at home.

Rivera at Rancho Dominguez Prep: The Lobos (1-5, 1-1) are coming their first win of the year. They host winless Rivera (0-7, 0-2) in a bid to move their Exposition League record above .500.

St. Michael’s Prep at Avalon: The Lancers (5-0) will host the Archangels (4-1, 0-0) in the Express League opener. Avalon is the three-time reigning league champion and have not lost since 2014.

Downey Calvary Chapel at Flintridge Prep, Saturday 3 p.m.: With only two games left in the regular season, the Grizzlies (4-3, 2-0) can guarantee an above .500 season with a win at Flintridge Prep (4-1) in the eight-man game in La Canada.
