Prep roundup: Gahr softball has undefeated regular season

MAYFAIR 7, LA MIRADA 2 >> The Monsoons (16-6, 9-3) scored an upset win and forced Matadores (21-8, 10-2) to share the Suburban League title with Cerritos (16-5, 10-2).

LOS ALAMITOS 11, FOUNTAIN VALLEY 2 >> The Griffins (24-3, 10-0) won their third consecutive Sunset League title on Tuesday after outscoring their league opponents 111-8. Los Alamitos is ranked No. 2 in the nation, according to MaxPreps and No. 2 in CIF-SS Division 1 behind Norco. The Griffins closed the regular season with a nine-game winning streak. Their last loss was to Norco on April 8 in the Michelle Carew Classic Tournament, 1-0.

Baseball

WHITNEY 5, LUTHERAN 4 >> The Wildcats (10-9, 3-9 Academy League) finished the regular season with a win over Lutheran (8-8) that makes them playoff-eligible in Division 7. Whitney hasn’t reached the playoffs in 29 years.
