LOS ANGELES — USC has signed a permission-to-contact letter for quarterback Max Browne, a school spokesman confirmed Tuesday. It was first reported by Scout.com. The paperwork allows for other schools to contact Browne to discuss transferring. Browne, a redshirt junior, remains with the team. He began this season as the Trojans’ starter, before he was replaced by redshirt freshman Sam Daold after the first three games. Though the team started 1-2 for the first time since 2001, Browne proved capable under center and put up modest statistics. MEMPHIS, Te. — Police in Teessee say wrestler Jerry “The King” Lawler and his girlfriend have been arrested on charges of domestic violence. Officers arrested the 66-year-old Lawler and 27-year-old Lauryn McBride after responding to a call at Lawler’s home Thursday night in East Memphis. World Wrestling Entertainment said in a statement Friday it has suspended Lawler due to the arrest. News outlets cited an arrest affidavit that says the couple told officers they got into an argument that tued violent. McBride said Lawler hit her on the head and pushed her against the stove.
