Rams RB Tre Mason has arrest warrant withdrawn

Los Angeles Rams ruing back Tre Mason is no longer facing arrest, according to Florida court records.

On Monday, Broward County judge Robert Diaz withdrew the warrant for Mason’s arrest, which had been active since the 22-year-old missed his arraignment on misdemeanor traffic and drug charges a week ago. Mason’s attoey, H.T. Smith, filed a motion last Friday to quash the warrant.

Smith argued his client had missed the arraignment because he was unaware of the scheduled court date, the result of a court notice having been mailed to the incorrect address. Records show the court date notice had been mailed March 23, but was retued to sender two weeks later.

Mason was arrested March 5 in Hollywood, Fla., where police allegedly saw him drive more than twice the speed limit in a 35-mile-per-hour zone. According to a written report, police subdued Mason by tasing him twice after pulling him over. They then found 12 grams of marijuana in his Porsche.

A third-round draft pick in 2014, Mason is facing misdemeanor charges that include reckless driving, resisting arrest, and possession of marijuana.
