NFL Draft: Rams select LB Josh Forrest in sixth round

Here’s a scouting report for Josh Forrest, whom the Rams selected with the 15th pick of the sixth round (190th overall) in the NFL Draft on Saturday:

Position: Linebacker

School: Kentucky

Year: Senior

Size: 6-3, 249

Strengths: Good, tall athlete with long arms. Can play on third downs, bringing enough speed (4.78 in the 40) to provide coverage and blitzing.

Weaknesses: Recognition, instincts and tackling skills are lacking. Could get pushed around by bigger tight ends.

The skiy: First defensive player taken by the Rams in this draft. Didn’t start playing football until his junior year of high school. Was recruited by Kentucky as a wide receiver. Ideal weak-side inside linebacker.
