WEDNESDAY

Moore League Baseball

Blair Field hosts a massive doubleheader that will likely shake up the Moore League standings. Millikan and Lakewood are tied for first place with one league loss. The Lancers will face Wilson at 4 p.m. before the Rams take on Poly in the nightcap. Lakewood and Millikan will close out the regular season with a game May 10 at Blair Field that could decide the league champion.

THURSDAY

Long Beach State Women’s Golf at NCAA Stanford Regional

Big West Conference Women’s Golfer of the Year and Long Beach State senior All-American candidate Kassidy Teare is in the NCAA postseason for the second straight year. Teare is ranked No. 46 in the nation by Golfstat, and is among 24 individual golfers to receive an at-large bid for this three-day event.

FRIDAY

Moore League Baseball

In the final Friday of league action at Blair Field, Wilson takes on Cabrillo at 3:30 p.m. before Lakewood faces Jordan. Meanwhile at 3:15 p.m. on campus, Poly will visit Compton.

Moore League Finals

This week is full of finals for the Moore League before the CIF Southe Section postseason begins. The boys golf individual touament will conclude at Skylinks Golf Course while the boys teis champions will be crowned at the Billie Jean King courts. The track and field finals will take over the track at Veterans Memorial Stadium, and the boys and girls swimming competition will be hosted at Cabrillo High’s new pool.

Long Beach State Dirtbags at Hawaii, 9:30 PST

It will be difficult to maintain momentum on the road as the Dirtbags (26-16, 9-6 Big West) try to stay in the top-three in the Big West standings. Hawaii (18-23, 7-8) has picked up 11 of its wins at home on the island, and shortstop Jacob Sheldon-Collins leads the conference with a .411 batting average. The senior also has 23 runs and 22 RBIs.

SATURDAY

Long Beach State Softball vs. UC Riverside, 1 p.m.

The 49ers (28-18, 8-7) are ruing out of time if they want to reach the top of the Big West standings with just two weekends remaining in the regular season. The Highlanders (31-17, 7-8) are in fourth place in the conference behind LBSU.
