Ducks send injured Chris Stewart home, recall Nick Ritchie from minors

Update: The Ducks sent right wing Chris Stewart back to Orange County on Friday to have his injured jaw examined. He was hurt during a fight with the Blue Jackets’ Dalton Prout in a 4-3 shootout loss Thursday to Columbus. The Ducks recalled 20-year-old left wing Nick Ritchie from the San Diego Gulls of the AHL to take Stewart’s spot on the roster. Stewart has 18 points, including eight goals. Ritchie made his NHL debut Nov. 16 and had one assist in 11 games. He also has 15 goals and 28 points in 33 games with the Gulls. The Ducks are 1-1-1 so far on their seven-game trip and are third in the Pacific Division with a 26-19-8 overall record. Captain Ryan Getzlaf has two goals and eight points in his past five games. The Central Division-leading Blackhawks are 36-18-4.
