SoCal Prep Legends Boys Athlete of the Week

NAME: MILLER DAVIS

SCHOOL: VALLEY CHRISTIAN

SPORT: VOLLEYBALL

YEAR: JUNIOR

Noteworthy: The junior outside hitter helped lead the Crusaders to three CIF Southe Section Division 3 playoff victories with respective kill totals of 19, 15 and 14 in wins over Mission Prep, Hemet and El Segundo.

The first two matches were quick sweeps, but Valley Christian had to hold off a furious comeback attempt on the road in a 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 16-25, 15-8 quarterfinal win Saturday night.

After being eliminated in the first round each of the last three seasons, the team now finds itself just one win away from a CIF championship match and will host top-seeded Quartz Hill on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the semis.
