SoCal Prep Legends Girls Athlete of the Week

NAME: ANGELICA PONCE

SCHOOL: ST. ANTHONY

SPORT: SOFTBALL

YEAR: SENIOR

Noteworthy: Ponce’s senior season just seems to become more impressive with each outing and that certainly didn’t change last week as the senior tossed a pair of one-hit shutouts in respective 27-0 and 8-0 wins over St. Beard and St. Genevieve to close out the regular season.

In the first game, she hit for the cycle and notched 12 RBIs and retued to dominating in the circle later in the week with 15 strikeouts on senior day.

The Saints (17-5) will host Rio Hondo Prep in the first round of the CIF Southe Section Division 6 playoffs on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
