The 19-year-old left-hander has been pitching for Triple-A Oklahoma City. He’ll start Friday for Alex Wood, who has been scratched due to left triceps tightness.
Urias has been regarded as one of the top young pitching talents in baseball. The Dodgers signed him in June 2012 when he was just 16.
In 41 iings for Oklahoma City, Urias has a 1.10 ERA and 0.78 WHIP with 44 strikeouts and just eight walks. He has not allowed a run in his past 27 iings.
