All-CIF baseball, softball and volleyball teams aounced

The All-CIF baseball, softball and boys volleyball teams were released Monday afteoon with 20 local athletes and one coach being honored for their accomplishments during the recently completed 2016 spring campaigns.

Headlining the boys volleyball CIF Southe Section Division 3 lineup is champion Valley Christian, led by Player of the Year Miller Davis, a junior outside hitter, and Coach of the Year Jason Kwak.

Spencer Fredrick and Giovai Morandini also made the team to represent the Crusaders, along with Daniel Lozada of Warren.

In baseball, Millikan standout Spencer Steer received an All-CIF nod in Division 1 and Ricky Ramos (Bellflower), Josh Haley (Gahr), Mike Perez (Gahr) and Keven Kendall (La Mirada) were all recognized in Division 2. Multi-sport standout Jose Carmen Silva eaed Division 7 recognition for Avalon.

Steer was selected by the Cleveland Indians on June 11 during the 29th round of the Major League Baseball draft.

In softball, Montana Dixon (Lakewood), Mary Iakopo (Los Alamitos) and Angelique “Cheeks” Ramos (Millikan) were named to the Division 1 team and Madison Bogdanovich (La Mirada), Alyssa Kumiyama (Gahr), Ashley Machado (Warren), Sarah Parten (Mayfair) and Breaa Vasquez are representing Division 3.

St. Anthony ace Angelica Ponce was recognized in Division 6 and Taryn Minuto (Avalon) got the nod in Division 7.
