Clippers assistant equipment manager Matias Testi, who was involved in an altercation with forward Blake Griffin outside a Toronto restaurant in January, will not be on the Clippers staff next season, a team official confirmed.
The Clippers wouldn’t comment whether Testi was fired or if he left on his own accord.
An attempt to reach Testi was unsuccessful.
Griffin and Testi were involved in an incident in January that ended with Griffin breaking his right hand punching the team employee. Griffin was suspended four games and five game checks by the team for the fight in Toronto.
Following the incident, Griffin and Testi, who were friends, appeared to have gotten over what happened.
“It’s something I think about every day and wish I could take it back, and I’ve told Matias that,” Griffin said in February. “I have talked to Matias tons of times since the incident. He actually said it best: ‘This stuff happens and we’re like brothers and we just have to move on.’”
