
The new CIF Southern Section playoff equity divisions have eight local high school football teams ranked in the polls released Tuesday.
St. John Bosco is the highest ranked at No. 2 in Division 1, where Poly comes in at No. 7 after its loss to Narboe. La Mirada fell from its top spot in Division 3 to No. 3 after it lost to Bosco, and Dominguez moved up to No. 7 in Division 4 after its win at San Marino.
Wilson didn’t move from No. 5 in Division 6, and fellow Moore League school Cabrillo is No. 7 in Division 7. In Division 9, Lynwood is No. 7 and Valley Christian is No. 10.
The CIF-SS released the cross country rankings on Tuesday as well, and the highest ranked team is the Poly girls team at No. 3 in Division 1. On the boys side, St. John Bosco is No. 5 in Division 3, and Valley Christian is No. 7 in Division 5.
WILSON 215, MILLIKAN 253 >> The Bruins (7-3, 1-0) opened Moore League play with a victory over the Rams (0-3, 0-1) at El Dorado Park Golf Course. Wilson senior Ali Morallos earned the medalist honors with an even-par round of 36. Erin Bath led the Rams at 46 and teammate Juliette Ruaux posted 47.
