Prep roundup: St. Anthony girls volleyball team remains undefeated

Three days after wiing the Pasadena Poly High School tournament, St. Anthony (6-0) rolled to a sweep of Mary Star on Tuesday. Saints freshman setter Misabella Bareford led the attack with 36 assists, six kills and two aces. Senior libero Maddie Mizraji was the Poly tournament Most Valuable Player and Sage Gamble and Bareford were named to the all-tournament team. The Saints are at Valley Christian Thursday at 5 p.m.

LONG BEACH POLY 3, NEWPORT HARBOR 0 >> The Jackrabbits were dominant on the road with a 25-17, 25-6, 25-18 sweep. Junior Chastity Ah-Hong led Poly with nine kills and five aces.

VALLEY CHRISTIAN 3, PARAMOUNT 1 >> After dropping the first set, the Crusaders (3-5) came back to beat the Pirates. Valley Christian’s Madison Holmes had a game-high 17 kills, setter Megan Lim had 25 assists and libero Kaylee Westra had 13 digs.

CABRILLO 3, RANCHO DOMINGUEZ PREP 0 >> The Jaguars swept the Lobos, 25-22, 25-14, 25-13. Senior setter Glenys Rodriguez paced the attack with 13 assists and 3 aces.

MARINA 211, WILSON 218 >> The Bruins (7-4) were edged by Marina (2-1) at Meadowlark Golf Course. Wilson senior Ali Morallos was the low finisher for the Bruins with a 3-over-par round of 39 and Brittney Do earned medalist honors for Marina with a 1-over round of 37.

LONG BEACH POLY 262, LAKEWOOD 313 >> The Jackrabbits (4-3) opened Moore League play by beating Lakewood (0-2) at Recreation Park Golf Course. Freshman Haah VanWagner earned medalist honors for the Jackrabbits with a 9-over round of 47. Poly takes on Millikan at El Dorado Park Golf Course on Thursday.
