All games at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
St. Anthony at Wilson: The Bruins (2-0) have a chance to show how good they really are against a tough St. Anthony (1-0) team in this 7th Street showdown. Wilson’s dynamic duo of Semaj Parker and Jacobi Hardy have accounted for 628 of the Bruins’ 945 all-purpose yards and will be leaned on heavily on Friday night. The Saints are coming off a blowout win against Southlands Christian, where they scored in all three phases of the game, including a kickoff retu by senior BJ Busbee. These teams have played two entertaining games in the last two years since St. Anthony coach Mario Morales started the home-and-home series with Wilson, where he coached from 2004 to ‘11. “It’s a great test for us to see where we are and where we need to go, from a competitive standpoint,” Morales said. Wilson is ranked No. 5 in the CIF Southe Section Division 6. St. Anthony is unranked in Division 10.
Los Alamitos at Lakewood: In a battle of first-year coaches, Mike Christensen is still looking for his first win in his retu to Lakewood (0-2) while Ray Fenton and his Griffins (1-1) are trying to duplicate the second half of their comeback win over Paraclete last week.
La Mirada at Mater Dei: For a third consecutive week, the Matadores (1-1) will take on a Trinity League team as they visit Mater Dei (2-0), the No. 1-ranked team in Califoia, according to MaxPreps. The Monarchs have already racked up more than 900 yards of total offense, so the La Mirada defense will once again have its hands full.
Paramount at Jordan: Coming off a 21-0 season opening loss at Buena Park, the Pirates (0-1) are chomping at the bit to get back on the field. The Panthers (1-1) didn’t complete a pass last week in their 7-6 win over Norwalk.
Cerritos at Gahr: Cerritos (1-0) takes on Gahr (2-0) in a matchup between two undefeated teams. The Gladiators have looked dominant so far this year with two convincing wins, but they face a tough test against the Cerritos defense. Cerritos will be the home team.
Burbank at Downey: The Vikings (1-1) will try to bounce back from last week’s loss to Hart as they host the Bulldogs (1-1). Downey is led by running back Emari Demercado, who has 41 carries for 410 yards and three touchdowns.
Mayfair vs. Sonora at La Habra HS: The Monsoons (0-2) have scored only six points in two losses, so they’re looking for an offensive breakout on the road. The Raiders (0-2) have also struggled with the ball. They gave up 38 points last week.
Los Angeles at Dominguez: The Dons (1-1) and sophomore quarterback Sean Harlston found a rhythm in their new spread look during their 56-35 win at San Marino last week. The Romans (1-0) rolled over View Park last week, 52-6.
Rosemead at Artesia: The Pioneers (2-0) prevailed in a defensive battle last week. Rosemead (0-2) has given up at least 35 points in its two games this season.

Fullerton at Bellflower: Raudric Curtis’ Buccaneers (0-2) are looking for their first win of the season as they welcome the Indians (1-0). Bellflower has been outscored, 80-14, in its two games.
Santa Monica at Compton: The Tarbabes (1-1) got their first win in four seasons last week with a 42-8 drubbing of Compton Centennial, thanks in part to a huge night from Christian Swint. The Vikings (0-2) will have their hands full with Swint and the Tarbabes’ Wing-T offense.
Cathedral at Lynwood: It’s a meeting of early undefeated teams as the Knights (2-0) welcome the Phantoms (2-0). Lynwood De’Quan Lindsey has been stellar on the ground. He had 190 yards rushing and two touchdowns in the opener. USC commit Wylan Free is being used all over the field.
Buena Park at Warren: The Bears (0-1-1) have been on the wrong end of defensive struggles so far this year with an 18-0 loss to Don Lugo and a 15-15 tie with Kaiser. They’ll try to pick up their first win against the Coyotes (2-0), who have been on a roll.
St. Margaret’s at Valley Christian: Valley Christian (1-1) got great production from its offense last week as the Crusaders put up 61 points in a victory over Bellflower. They’ll need to put up a lot of points on Friday night as they host undefeated St. Margaret’s, which has scored more than 40 points in each of its two games this year.
Bestein at Rancho Dominguez Prep: The Lobos (0-1) did not give up a point in the second half of last week’s loss and look to carry that momentum over to their matchup with Bestein (0-2).
Millikan at Banning: The Rams (0-2) and their young guns will try to get in the win column, but it’ll be a tough a tough task against the undefeated Pilots (2-0) on the road.
Norwalk at Bell Gardens: The Lancers (1-1) are coming off a heartbreaking 7-6 loss to Jordan last week and will travel to face winless Bell Gardens (0-2).
Glenn at Mountain View: The Eagles (1-1) came back down to earth last week in a 48-6 loss to Peninsula after picking up their first win since 2014 in the season opener. Sophomore receiver Keith Shanklin already has 11 receptions, 167 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Santa Rosa Academy vs. Firebaugh at Lynwood HS, Saturday: Firebaugh (0-2) was shut out in last week’s contest and the Falcons have a chance to get on the scoreboard at home against a team that won by forfeit last week.
Avalon at Discovery, Saturday, noon: The Avalon eight-man football team (1-0) is coming off a 40-0 blowout victory on the road last week.
