USC releases non-conference basketball schedule, conference matchups

The USC’s men’s basketball team will begin its most anticipated season in a decade when it hosts Cal State Fullerton on Nov. 10.

Four of its first five games will be held at the Galen Center. The non-conference portion of its schedule was released Thursday.

The Trojans retu all but one scholarship player after they advanced to the second round of the NCAA Touament last March. Their 26 wins also marked a program record.

The first road game is at Vanderbilt on Nov. 19.

SMU will host USC on Dec. 2 as part of a home-and-home series. USC upset the sixth-seeded Mustangs in the first round of the touament on a game-winning 3-pointer by Elijah Stewart in the final seconds and earlier in the season also secured a non-conference victory.

The Trojans will play in two preseason touament events, Hoophall LA at Staples Center, where they will face Oklahoma, and the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu.

The Pac-12 schedule has not been finalized, but the conference announced its weekly pairings. USC will first host Washington and Washington State the week of Dec. 27.

It will face Arizona, regarded as the preseason favorite to win the conference, only once, in Tucson, Arizona, in early February.
