SoCal Prep Legends Girls Athlete of the Week

NAME: OPHELIA LARA

SCHOOL: GAHR

SPORT: WRESTLING

YEAR: SENIOR

Noteworthy: Lara won a state championship at 150 pounds Saturday night in Visalia with a win over Tokay’s Madisen Bozovich in the final round of the two-day touament.

The All-American finished the season undefeated and is the back-to-back CIF Southe Section champion.

“Ophelia is an extremely hard worker who is dedicated and an all around great example of a student athlete,” Gahr coach Richard Carbajal said. “She has had an outstanding high school career as a four time state qualifier and a three time state medalist. She completed her senior year with a perfect 50-0 record. It has been an honor to be her coach.”
