Selection Sunday for SoCal: Everything you need to know

March Madness has arrived, with Selection Sunday tomorrow, and the first round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Touament begiing Thursday.

Who will make the touament?

The 68 teams will be finalized tomorrow begiing at 2:30 p.m. on CBS.

Which teams in Southe Califoia will make the touament?

• After its Pac-12 loss to Utah, USC will play the waiting game. The Trojans are likely to make the touament, but it is not clear at what seed.

Some speculate USC will be a No. 8 or No. 9 seed, with analysts predicting USC may play USC (South Carolina), Butler or St. Joseph’s.

• UCLA is not expected to make the touament after finishing with a 15-17 record, (6-12 in the Pac-12), just its fourth losing season since 1948.

• Long Beach State edged out UC Irvine Friday night in an upset victory. Top-seeded Hawaii awaits Long Beach State (20-13) in the championship game back at Honda Center tonight at 8:30. It will be the first touament final for the 49ers since they won it in 2012. That was also the last time the top-seed took the Big West crown.
