LA Kings hit road Monday to face Chicago Blackhawks, begin tough stretch of games

Update: The Pacific Division-leading Kings (40-22-5) begin a stretch of six consecutive games against playoff-bound opponents by playing the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks (41-22-6). The Kings then face the Stars in Dallas on Tuesday before retuing to the caveous confines of Staples Center to meet the New York Rangers on Thursday. The Kings’ next victory will also be the 179th of Darryl Sutter’s coaching tenure with them, moving him past Bob Pulford into second place on the franchise’s all-time wins list. Sutter is 178-106-44 after the Kings’ overtime loss Saturday to the New Jersey Devils. Andy Murray had the most wins in club history with 215. Sutter tied Larry Robinson on Saturday with the third-most games coached in Kings history (328). Kings left wing Milan Lucic has points in five consecutive games (two goals, five assists).
