Formula E and Virtually Live, a San Francisco-based virtual reality technology business, have aounced a partnership to bring virtual reality to the electric racing series.

Virtually Live lets e-enthusiasts experience live events in real time, and is aimed at fans who can’t attend in person.

Several live broadcast tests have been conducted during races this season.

During the Long Beach ePrix, Formula E and Virtually Live will showcase their virtual reality experience through a series of events. Fans will later be able to download the experience in the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive App stores.

“As an iovative championship, we’re excited to partner with Virtually Live,” said Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E, in a news release. “Virtual reality is one of the most exciting new ways to broadcast live sports and improve fans’ viewing experiences. Now, we can give fans that caot attend a race in person the opportunity of feeling like they are actually immersed in the Formula E experience from any perspective.”

Further details and aouncements about races broadcast by Virtually Live will be made at the end of the season.

Formula E takes place April 2 in Long Beach. General admission is $25.
