  • The Wilson High girls golf team clinched its eighth consecutive Moore League team title by beating Long Beach Poly 221-247 on Tuesday at Recreation Park Golf Course. Wilson (17-4, 8-0) was once again led by senior Ali Morallos, who made one birdie and finished at 1-over-par 39. Riley Henry added a round of 43 for the Bruins that included four pars, and Maya Olson was the low finisher for Poly with 45. “We continue to be blessed with a group of dedicated players that are always putting in extra work to make sure they are prepared for competition,” Wilson coach Jeff Evans said. Monday is the first day of the Moore League Individual Touament, where Morallos will try to win her third consecutive league title.   • Although the game wasn’t against a Division 1 opponent, Poly coach Antonio Pierce loved what he saw from his team in a technically sound, efficient 77-0 drubbing of Cabrillo. “We wanted a week of good, smart, penalty-free physical football,” said Pierce. “We wanted a team win where we performed in all aspects of the game and that’s what we got. No disrespect to the Moore League but we’re the top dogs and we should show that every Friday.” There was no doubt who the top dog was in the crosstown rivalry from early on, as Poly led 28-0 at the end of the first quarter.   • Junior running back Al Fisher paced a powerful running game that carried visiting Paramount to a 28-6 victory Friday night over Jordan. Fisher rushed for a game-high 121 yards on 18 carries. He scored a pair of touchdowns. Pierre Robinson Jr., had a 30-yard run in the fourth quarter that was the longest of the game for Paramount.
